SOFTER IS SMARTER.

ERT adds protection against brain injuries.

Strategic’s patented ERT (Energy Reduction Technology) incorporates soft advanced polymer pads into helmet designs to help manage both rotational and linear impact energy. ERT pads mitigate impact energy through both their unique material properties and their refined geometry.

Unlike most impact energy management materials, which do not deform and dissipate energy below a certain impact threshold, ERT responds instantly, even at low-impact levels commonly seen in many sports.

How does ERT work?

Most Global helmet test standards, including CPSC and CE, require a helmet to limit the rider’s experience to less than 300 G’s of acceleration energy during a simulated crash impact. This is the required pass/fail upper threshold for helmet impact testing.

However, studies show that lower impacts in the 108 G range may correlate to concussions and traumatic brain injuries (TBI’s). It is estimated that 80% of crashes fall in this range.

ERT is specifically designed to add a degree of energy management at these lower level impacts while retaining the helmet's higher G test performance.

Rigorously Tested.

ERT™ performance is proven in global third-party testing labs including Dynamic Research, Inc. in Los Angeles, TASS in Holland and at the University of Strasbourg in France.

Overall, when combined with EPS foam, ERT™ demonstrated an 26% performance improvement in mitigating rotational impact and 30% improvement in managing linear impact vs EPS alone, and 16% and 29% respectively when compared to popular competitive energy management technology.

Softer, Smarter, AND more Comfortable.

ERT™ is a unique, soft patented polymer material designed and shaped to add protection against brain injuries. But that’s not all it does.

Unlike other energy management technology, ERT™ pads are placed strategically based on each helmet design in accordance to impact management and do not need to cover the entire structure to be effective.

And less is more, as those soft, plush pads result in an exceptionally comfortable helmet fit that feels right from the moment you put it on and stays comfortable, no matter how far your ride takes you.
