Celebrating Love: Strategic Sports' Annual Valentine's Event
At Strategic Sports, we know from years of experience that building a strong company culture goes far beyond the workplace—it’s about creating meaningful connections and improving lives. That’s why our Annual Valentine’s Event holds a special place in our hearts. Since its inception in 2013 (with a pause during COVID), the event has become a cherished tradition that reflects our core value of ‘People First.’
Held each year in mid-March at our China location—and now expanding to Vietnam as of 2024—this event is about more than just finding a match; it’s about creating opportunities for connection and happiness. Over the years, a total of 390 people have participated in China and 52 people in Vietnam, resulting in an impressive 66 couples in China and 13 couples in Vietnam. Even more remarkable, six marriages have come from the event in China!
The evening includes a variety of games and events to encourage people to get to know each other, connect and establish compatibility. For example in one such activity, participants were blindfolded and challenged to feed each other watermelon.
The results speak for themselves. A standout story comes from Ross Deng, our Special Projects Team Leader:
“I joined the event as my team members knew I was single and they all pressed me to go. I didn't intend to but at the last minute, I joined. During the event, I met a pretty girl and we ended up matching. The company arranged for our first date and I found out that the girl also did not intend to join but was pressed by her colleagues. We had a good feeling during the first date and we continued to keep in touch and meet. We married and now have a kid. I came to Strategic after university to find a career but I found so much more—my life partner and my family. Join this event and perhaps you too will be like me and find happiness!”
Ross’s story captures the heart of why we host this event. At Strategic Sports, we recognize that life is about more than work. By supporting personal connections and creating space for relationships to grow, we strengthen not only our company culture but also the lives of our team members. We are proud of the effort we make to bring people together and look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
